Is online psychiatry as effective as in-person consultation?
For the majority of psychiatric conditions — including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD assessment, bipolar disorder follow-up, and counselling — telepsychiatry produces outcomes equivalent to in-person care. A small number of situations (such as acute psychosis or very young children) are better assessed in person. Dr. Divya will always advise if an in-person visit would be more appropriate.
What do I need for an online psychiatry appointment?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone; a stable internet connection; and a private, quiet space where you can speak freely. No special software is required — sessions are conducted via WhatsApp Video or Google Meet.
Can prescriptions be issued online?
Yes. Where medication is clinically appropriate, Dr. Divya can issue a prescription digitally following the consultation. Prescriptions can be sent via WhatsApp or email for fulfilment at your local pharmacy.
